The defrosting has begun with the worst of winter behind us and in August, Wyndham City is coming alive! Your new home at Jubilee is in the perfect position to take full advantage of the activities in the local area, so here are some of our favourites happening over the next month!

Thai Stir Fry Workshop

When: Saturday 5 August 2017, 1-3pm

Where: The Grange Community Centre (260-280 Hogans Rd, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029)

What: Discover the tastes of Thailand while learning how to make two different flavoursome stir fry’s. You will learn how to use different flavours to create you own tasty stir fry’s at home. You will get to sample each one  and all materials are supplied!

Cost: $30

Who should attend: This activity is suited to those 12 – 25 years old and adults

Diary of a Wombat

When: Thursday 10 August 2017, 10am and 1pm

Where: Wyndham Cultural Centre (177 Watson Street, Werribee, VIC 3030)

What: Millions of young people around the world have adored the multi award-winning picture book, Diary Of A Wombat, and now it is being bought to the stage through puppetry and live music. Meet Mothball, the naughtiest wombat in Australia. Bored with her daily routine, Mothball goes in search of shelter and food, creating chaos in the lives of the humans around her.

Running Time: 45 min no interval

Child- $14

The Community Grocer Wyndham

When: Thursday 17 August – Thursday 19 October 2017, 3-6pm

Where: Youth Resource Centre (86 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029)

What: The Community Grocer in collaboration with Wyndham City Council, is launching an affordable, fresh food market in Wyndham. The Community Grocer is a not for profit organisation that aims to make fruit and vegetables accessible for all! We do this by running weekly, local, affordable produce markets. Each week, we’ll bring more than 50 types of fruit and vegetables to a pop up market at the Youth Resource Centre.

All profits from the market will be returned to the community.

Cost: Free, but bring money for your fruit and vegetable purchases.

Who should attend: Bring the whole family!

Wyndham Business Awards Presentation Evening

When: Friday 25 August 2017, 7-11:59pm

Where: Encore Events Centre (80 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029)

What: Celebrate business excellence in the local community at the annual Wyndham Business Awards Presentation Evening. All category winners will be announced along with the Business of the Year for 2017.

Cost: 

Child 12 & Under (Inc. main meal, dessert and soft drinks): $43.05

Adult (Inc. 3 course meal and beverages): $100.53

A Guide to Event Planning

When: Thursday 31 August 2017, 9:30am-12:30pm

Where: Wyndham Civic Centre (45 Princes Hwy, Werribee VIC 3030)

What: Presented by the Wyndham City Major Events Team, this session will provide advice on how to develop event plans, what to consider when planning an event and guide you through the potential requirements for your event.

Cost: FREE
